Sony ‘taking necessary action’ to battle PS3 piracy

Sony has told CVG that it is taking “necessary action” to protect PS3 from software piracy – following the release of new security-related Firmware last night.

Permanently Fix an Xbox 360 Cursed with Red Ring of Death

Every Xbox 360 owners knows about the different problems that can plague their beloved console in a horrifyingly terrible twist of fate. Issues such as the dreaded Error 74 or the nightmarish Red Ring of Death, rendering gaming systems more inert than an icicle on a snowy winter morning and dead as a doornail. It’s a terrifying hardware flaw that Microsoft, despite initial denials, finally stepped up and showed that they could expertly handle an otherwise sticky customer relations issue.

More Devs Going Indie, To Gamers’ Benefit

Lego Universe closed beta now available on Mac

Hey, fans of Apple products love stacking things on top of other things to make bigger things too, you know. That’s why NetDevil recently opened up Lego Universe’s closed beta process to Mac users. Potential stackers and builders can hop on the wagon by going to the game’s official Beta Center and applying to join up.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 eyeing 2012

After numerous delays, GSC Game World released the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl in 2007 and has since put out two follow-ups to capitalize on that game’s critical success. The first, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, arrived in 2008 and operated as a prequel to the events in the original game, while this year’s Call of Pripyat served as an extension to the end of Shadow of Chernobyl.

Little Big Planet 2 beta announced

The original Little Big Planet and its cast of Sackboys and Sackgirls was a runaway hit for Sony and developer Media Molecule. The 2008 title sold more than 3 million units, spawned a game-of-the-year edition and a PSP iteration, and currently has a sequel, Little Big Planet 2, planned for November 16. However, excited gamers wishing to get their hands on the sequel won’t have to wait that long.

Kojima teases weekend announcement

Hideo Kojima has become quite adept at teasing his fans. The celebrated game designer has been dropping plenty of hints lately about his seemingly never-ending ideas for new projects, which may or may not include Metal Gear Solid 5, a Metal Gear Solid: Rising series, a title dealing with a certain type of taboo, an entirely new adventure game, or even Zone of Enders 3. Unfortunately, Kojima has yet to confirm or deny any or all of these projects, leaving fans with a lot of guesswork and speculation.
